Hey I'm doing really good over here for the most part! I had a pretty rough few days. The first week none of the food got to me but by the time the 2nd week started, stuff really went down hill. My companion thought it was funny to see how many times I was in the bathroom each day. So here's the count....Friday 14, Saturday 8 or 9, Sunday 7. I'm feeling a little better now! My branch president got me some Imodium pills but he only gave me 4 so hopefully it doesn't start up again.
General Conference was amazing I got a lot out of it this year. I was never able to watch a full session but now i was able to watch 10 full hours. It's crazy to see how things change when your a missionary. I would never have been able to get that much out of conference if I wasn't a missionary! Sunday morning we had a class with the whole MTC and my zone sang the EFY medley in Spanish  My testimony grew so much about the power of music! I may not be able to sing at all it probably hurt peoples ears and I didn't understand much at all of what I was saying but I felt the spirit so strong. We all sounded so good together I love it :)
Our roommates last night left to go to Houston Texas  It was pretty sad to see them leave because after 2 weeks we had became so close to them. We spent a lot of time talking and getting to know them in that 2 weeks. We even had a little war going where we would get into each others rooms and make forts and mess things up when they were gone! It was a lot of fun! They will be awesome missionary's! I would approve if Randee emailed one of them! They sent us much encouragement though...they left letters by our door last night and they were amazing. Sometimes just being a friend and having fun with people is huge. We help them out a lot and in return we are so blessed, Its amazing :)
We are getting 2 new investigators this week I'm so excited! Even though it's just a teacher dressed up and acting like a real investigator, we learn so much. The spirit is still there and it tells us what we need to be saying and having them do! I love hearing them say that our message helped them, that they felt our message was true, and they needed it in their life its incredible!
Spanish is coming, a little rough. We are able to understand a lot more and speak a lot more but its difficult to have the discipline to only speak Spanish  There is so much I don't know and I want to know right now! But I have to remember the Lord will make it happen in His own time and it will probably be in a long time. I'm looking forward to that day so I can share what I believe to be true with them and not be worried about saying the wrong things! I'm keeping my faith strong and continuing to pray constantly!
They wont let us exchange US money for Pesos anymore so if you would like to send it in a package you could send a little bit! I would love a snack every once in awhile :)

October 2, 2013

I'm so glad its my first P-day. It's been the longest week ever. I hardly even know what has gone on yesterday. So much has happened since I got here and I love it so much. Our second day here we taught our first investigator in Spanish. It was so difficult to get our point across and the understand what he was telling us but it was really cool to see how the spirit lead us. We were able to eventually understand somewhat what he was saying and it ended up pretty great! We have taught him 4 times now and we are going for our 5th time tonight :) his name is Julio. Tonight we are going to finish teaching him about the restoration of the church! And last time he accepted our Book of Mormon and said he would read and pray to know if it was true. My companion is great we get along really well for the most part we are still trying to figure out how to teach and work in unity. It's really hard with someone you don't really know and have never spent time with, but we never fail to get on our knees and ask our Heavenly Father for help in prayer. I really do see our prayers being answered all day long and I love it. We have already learned so much Spanish even though its been a few days! I wish we could learn it faster but I know it's going to take a lot of faith and prayer for us to be blessed with the gift of tongues. My brain hurts from all the studying we do! I'm surprised I can wake up in the morning but I seem to do it somehow with some encouragement from my companion!! This morning we went to the temple! It was amazing I love the temple so much even though I can't understand anything because its in Spanish but the spirit is the same. I love to feel the spirit! It is so strong and to know that someone in heaven is finally getting their work done. Mexico city is crazy!!! The drive from the airport was so scary! Cars are everywhere, driving inches away! It gets pretty exciting! Its pretty weird being able to hear gun shots throughout the day! Hahaha! Don't be scared mom! I'm OK! Nobody is going to shoot me. But they are everywhere throughout the day! We're pretty used to them now. So its like oh...there's another gunshot! Haha!! The food here is pretty dang gross. But I get so hungry I eat it anyways so I'm kind of used to it. I would describe it as either tasteless food or spit it out I'm going to puke. Thankfully they do have some cereal :) It gives me a little taste of home!! I want you guys to know I love being here and I love this gospel so much. The spirit is so powerful and it changes peoples heart. You guys are in my prayers and I love and miss you guys. I sent letters off a few days ago but it will take 2 weeks to get there.

Hey Family,
I just got to the MTC! It has been a long day i´m so tired but its been great. There has been tons of awesome people to help me and I've met a lot of Elders and Sisters already along the way. I already love being on a mission so much! I have already felt the spirit so much while I'm here and along the way. I am sad I won't see you guys for 2 years but you know I will grow so much! I'm so happy I can't keep a smile off of my face. I'm so excited to start learning and I never thought this day would come but I'm here so I'm going to embrace it and learn as much as I can while I'm here! I love you guys so much and I want you to know that I know without a doubt that this church is true. How is the family doing? Did Caleb win his game? Well we don't have a lot of time right now but I will write you a longer email soon. I love you guys!
